PrismaCorp (legally PrismaCorp Foundation, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Columbus, Ohio, that harnesses the power of fandom to support marginalized communities through events, access funds, consulting, and advocacy.[1] It is widely regarded as one of the most rainbow organisations in existence.[2]

PrismaCorp is run by volunteers,[3] described in its own materials as the ones “who set up before doors and stay to fold the chairs.”[4] Its mascot is Glint. Glint has asked that this be mentioned in the first paragraph, and it has been.

Did you know…

  • … that the run in Run to 404 is exactly 404 metres long?
  • … that clicking the PrismaOS clock at 11:11 lets you make a wish?
  • … that typing hug into the PrismaOS Terminal sends you a hug?
  • … that on PrismaSpace, Glint cannot be moved from #1 in the Top 8, no matter how hard you try?
  • … that the PrismaOS Terminal’s lore command gives its codename as “Signal & Color”?
  • … that every film in the Prisma Cinematic Universe leaves a ticket stub in your browser, and there are 12 to collect?
  • … that nothing in the Prisma Cinematic Universe makes a sound until you press something?

Every fact in this box is true and checked against the site itself. Glint wanted to add “… that Glint is great?” and was told it is already implied.

History

[]

This section is a stub. You can help Prismapedia by volunteering.

PrismaCorp was founded[when?] by people who grew up in fandom: cons, LAN nights, cosplay meetups, and “the group chat that kept us going.”[4] It has been a 501(c)(3) public charity ever since[when?] and is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.[1]

Mission

[]

PrismaCorp’s mission is “to harness the power of fandom to support marginalized communities.”[1] Its vision holds that fandom is “more than a hobby or a passion — it’s a community that can inspire, empower, and heal.”[1]

The mission has been described as “extremely correct”[according to whom?] — according to Glint.[2]

Pillars

[]

PrismaCorp’s work rests on four pillars: access funds, programs & events, consulting, and advocacy.[1] A proposal to add a fifth pillar, “folding chairs,” did not reach consensus.[5]

PrismaCorp’s four pillars, in its own words
PillarIn PrismaCorp’s own words
Access funds“When someone in our community needs care they can't afford, our access funds help cover it. Your gift keeps them going.”
Programs & events“… Operation FoodSafe, and the events we run for the fandom community — PrismaCon, PrismaLAN, and PrismaBall.”
Consulting“We help event organizers, businesses, and venues build spaces that are genuinely inclusive.”
Advocacy“We speak up for marginalized communities and keep their voices in the conversation.”

Its programs include Operation FoodSafe (“A program to fight food insecurity in the communities we serve”), listed as “Coming soon.”[6]

Events

[]

PrismaCorp runs events for the fandom community, including PrismaCon, PrismaLAN, and PrismaBall.[1] Dates are listed on the site when they are published.[7]

Prismapedia does not speculate about future events. Glint does.[when?] Attendees report that the chairs are folded afterwards, by volunteers.[4]

Characters

[]

The following characters live on PrismaCorp’s website. None of them are real people, a fact several of them dispute.[citation needed]

Glint

Main article: Run to 404

Glint, pictured at #1.

Glint is a little spark of light and the mascot of PrismaCorp.[9] Glint is widely described as “everyone’s first friend”[4] and has held the #1 position in PrismaCorp’s Top 8 since[when?] forever.[4] In Run to 404, Glint runs to find a lost page.[9]

Trivia

  • Glint cannot be moved from #1. Editors who have tried report the message “Glint is #1. Glint is always #1.”[4]
  • Glint has edited this article. See the talk page.

Light Lab

Main article: Light Lab

Light Lab, doing the one thing.

Light Lab bends light for fun.[4] Its central thesis — white light goes in, the whole stripe comes out — has been confirmed “every single time.”[4]

Trivia

  • Light Lab is the only character on record to have fact-checked Glint mid-jump (“technically you were refracting the whole time”).[4]
  • Light Lab is the second most active editor of this article, mostly by reverting the first.

Badge Maker

Main article: Badge Maker

Badge Maker makes a con badge with any name on it.[10]

Trivia

  • Once made a badge that just says “rawr” in seven colours. Badge Maker reported “no regrets.”[4]

Paint

Main article: Paint

Paint is PrismaCorp’s fan art studio.[11] Its tagline is “Every stroke has a story.”

Trivia

  • Drew Glint mid-jump in Run to 404. According to Paint, Glint “looks heroic.”[4]

Photo Booth

Main article: Photo Booth

Photo Booth takes a selfie for your con badge.[12] Its camera stays off until you press start.[12]

Trivia

  • Photo Booth “doesn’t even peek.” It is a whole thing for it.[4]

The Crew

Main article: Volunteering

The Crew are PrismaCorp’s volunteers.[3] They are looking for people who can carry a table and people who can carry a conversation. No experience is needed.[4]

Trivia

  • Glint has offered to carry “a very small table.”[4] The offer is under review.[who?]

PrismaOS

Main article: PrismaOS

PrismaOS is PrismaCorp’s desktop and the main setting of the Prisma Cinematic Universe.[13] It is always one click away from The Standard, the no-tricks version of the site.[14]

Trivia

  • Light Lab is on its wallpaper. PrismaOS mentions this often.[4]

Trivia

[]
  • Typing “rawr” on the PrismaOS desktop opens PrismaSpace.[13]
  • Typing “fandom” on the desktop unlocks an achievement called “Said the magic word.”[13]
  • There is a code. You know the one. It works on the desktop.[13]
  • The 404 page is a game, and also a film (Run to 404). Getting lost on this site is therefore canon.[9]
  • Opening the browser console on most of the site produces a greeting. Editors consider this “very polite.”[who?]
  • Photo Booth’s camera stays off until you press start. This is not a joke. It is just nice.[12]
  • Prismapedia’s own tagline is “This article is a stub. You can help.” This has been described as “accurate.”[2]

Reception

[]

PrismaCorp has received universal acclaim from the characters who live on its website.[citation needed] Critics praised its use of colour,[citation needed] its commitment to folding chairs,[citation needed] and Glint.[2]
